ReceiptNest is a privacy-first receipt and expense tracking app. This policy describes how your information is handled when you use the app.
ReceiptNest does not collect, store, or share any personal information.
All data you create — including receipts, receipt images, mileage entries, expense categories, tags, and notes — is stored exclusively on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework (local SQLite database).
iCloud Sync is an optional, opt-in feature. When enabled, your data is synchronized across your Apple devices via your private iCloud container using Apple’s CloudKit service. This data is governed by Apple’s privacy policy and is not accessible to the developer.
When iCloud Sync is disabled, the app operates entirely offline with no network activity.
ReceiptNest requires camera and photo library access solely for scanning and importing receipt images. All image processing — including OCR text extraction and compression — is performed entirely on-device using Apple’s Vision framework. Images are never uploaded to any server.
ReceiptNest offers an optional app lock feature using Face ID or device passcode via the LocalAuthentication framework. Biometric data is handled entirely by iOS and is not accessible to the app or developer.
If you grant permission, ReceiptNest uses local notifications to remind you of upcoming return-by deadlines and to deliver weekly spending summaries. No notification data is transmitted to any server.
ReceiptNest does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or crash reporting services. The app uses only Apple’s first-party frameworks (SwiftUI, SwiftData, Vision, CloudKit, etc.) and has no external dependencies.
You can export all your data at any time via the built-in backup feature (JSON format). Deleting the app from your device removes all locally stored data. If iCloud Sync is enabled, data stored in your iCloud container can be deleted by disabling iCloud Sync or managing your iCloud storage in iOS Settings.
ReceiptNest does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. The app does not collect any data from any user regardless of age.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected within the app and on this page.
