Vehicle Log (“the app”) is developed by KTN Apps (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: the app has no servers, no accounts and no analytics. Your data stays on your device and, if you turn on iCloud sync, in your own private Apple iCloud account.
We collect nothing. We operate no backend service, no analytics SDK and no advertising SDK. No data is transmitted to us or to any third party for our benefit. We cannot see your vehicles, your fuel logs, your photos or your usage of the app.
The app does not track you across apps or websites, and contains no tracking
domains. This is declared in the app’s Apple privacy manifest
(PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy) as Data Not Collected and
Tracking: No.
Everything you enter is stored locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework. This includes:
UserDefaultsPhotos and file attachments you add are copied into the app’s private container. You choose individual items through the system photo/file picker; the app does not read your photo library beyond what you explicitly pick.
If you enable iCloud sync, your app data is synchronised through CloudKit
into your own private iCloud database (container
iCloud.com.ktnapps.vehicle-management). That data is held by Apple under your
Apple Account and governed by Apple’s privacy policy. We have no access to it and receive
no copy. Turning sync off stops further synchronisation; data already in iCloud can be
removed via iOS Settings → your Apple Account → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
You can export a backup (JSON, optionally including photos) or CSV files, and you can import data from other apps’ CSV exports (for example Fuelly or Drivvo). Exports are written wherever you send them — Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop, another app. Once a file leaves the app, its handling is up to you and the destination service. Encrypted backups are protected with a passphrase you choose; we cannot recover a lost passphrase.
Reminder notifications are scheduled and delivered locally on your device via the iOS notification system. There is no push server. Notification permission is requested only when you enable reminders, and can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings.
If you enable app lock, authentication is performed by iOS through
LocalAuthentication. Biometric data never leaves Apple’s Secure Enclave and
is never seen by the app or by us.
The app embeds no third-party analytics, attribution, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs. Two Apple services may be involved:
Apple may also provide us with anonymous, aggregated App Store analytics (downloads, crashes, retention). This data is not linked to your identity and is not collected by the app itself.
The app is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction).
Under GDPR/UK GDPR terms, we are not a controller of your app content, as we never receive it. For CCPA/CPRA purposes: we do not collect, sell or share personal information.
Local data is protected by iOS app sandboxing and device encryption (which depends on you having a device passcode set). The widget snapshot and any encrypted backup use AES-GCM. No transmission of data happens outside iCloud sync and files you export yourself.
If this policy changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and publish the revised version at the same URL. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
