Summary

QR Scanner does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data. The app has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no third-party SDKs, and makes no network requests for any of its features. Everything you scan or create stays on your device.

Data we collect

None. We operate no servers and receive no data from the app. We cannot see your scans, your history, your photos, or your device identifiers.

Apple may provide us with aggregate, anonymous download and crash statistics through App Store Connect. That data is generated by Apple, is not linked to you, and is not something the app sends.

Data stored on your device

The following stays local to your iPhone or iPad and is never uploaded:

DataPurposeStorageRemoval
Scan history (content, type, timestamp, favorite flag) Find and reuse past scans SwiftData database in the app container Delete individual items, “Clear history” in Settings, or delete the app
Generated codes you save Your own output Photos app, only when you tap Save Delete from Photos
Settings (language, haptics, sound, history on/off, onboarding state) Remember your preferences UserDefaults in the app container Delete the app

Wi-Fi passwords from scanned WIFI: codes are never written to history. CSV and JSON exports redact Wi-Fi and contact entries. Deleting the app removes the app container, and with it all history and settings.

Device permissions

The app asks for a permission only at the moment the matching feature is used, and every feature that does not need it keeps working if you decline.

You can review or revoke any of these in iOS Settings → QR Scanner.

Links you open

Opening a scanned link launches your default browser or the relevant system app. Once you leave QR Scanner, the destination site’s own privacy policy applies. We have no involvement in and no visibility into what happens there.

Third parties

The app bundles no analytics, attribution, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs. No data is shared with, sold to, or disclosed to any third party, because none is collected.

Children

QR Scanner is suitable for all ages and knowingly collects no data from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your jurisdiction).

Your rights (GDPR / CCPA and similar)

Rights of access, correction, deletion, portability, and objection apply to data a company holds about you. We hold none. Data on your device is under your control: export it from Settings, delete individual items, clear history, or delete the app to erase everything. We do not sell or share personal information under CCPA.

Security

Data never leaves your device through the app, so there is no transmission to intercept. On-device data is protected by iOS app sandboxing and, when your device passcode is enabled, by iOS file encryption.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version is published at this URL with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes will also be noted in the App Store release notes.
